Community and takedowns

Last updated: October 10, 2026.

Players can suggest posters, backdrops and trailers for the titles in the game. This page explains how contributions are moderated, how to report content or request its removal, and publishes this month’s moderation figures.

Contributing

From a title’s page, a signed-in player can suggest a poster, a backdrop or a YouTube trailer link. Nothing appears on a card before moderators decide.

  • Who: a player at level 3 or above, with a verified email address, whose contributions aren’t suspended.
  • Files: still JPEG, PNG or WebP, 5 MB max; portrait 2:3 poster (at least 300 × 450 pixels), landscape 16:9 backdrop (at least 960 × 540 pixels). Metadata (EXIF, GPS location) is removed; the image is never edited.
  • Links: an image suggested by link stays on its original site and is never copied; a site that blocks outside display is not bypassed.
  • Trailers: the YouTube video must exist, be public and embeddable (checked on sending). It fills a gap: an official trailer found later replaces it.
  • Declaration: each suggestion carries the rights holder, source and basis declared by the player, and their statement that they have the right to share it. The credit shown is “Suggested by @username · © declared rights holder”.
  • Limits: 5 suggestions a day and 10 pending at most per player, only one pending per title and type.
  • Support: players can support a pending suggestion (once each). Support helps moderators decide what to review first; it never publishes anything on its own.

What CineMasters does, and doesn’t

Contributions are provided by players themselves. CineMasters hosts them: it doesn’t create, complete or edit them, and never publishes a contribution under the name of a player who didn’t make it.

Moderators approve or decline each suggestion as it is, with a reason given to the player, and promptly remove content once notified that it is illegal.

Reporting

Any signed-in player can report the poster, backdrop or trailer shown on a title’s page (copyright, inappropriate content, wrong title, quality), whatever its source, up to 20 times a day. Reports go to moderators; they don’t remove anything on their own.

Requesting a takedown

Anyone, without an account, can notify content they consider illegal through the takedown request form. The notice must include:

  • the name and email address of its author, and their capacity (rights holder, representative or other);
  • the exact location of the content (address of the title’s page or of the image);
  • the ground and a sufficient explanation of why it is illegal;
  • a good-faith statement that this information is accurate and complete.

File a takedown request

The form is protected against bots. If it can’t be used, the notice can be sent to contact@cine-masters.com.

Timelines

  • Acknowledgment: immediate, by email, with a reference.
  • Takedown request: we aim to review it within 24 hours; an accepted removal applies at once and leaves caches within an hour at most. The reasoned decision is sent by email.
  • Suggestions and reports: reviewed in queue order, the most supported and oldest first, with no guaranteed delay.

Repeat infringers

When a published contribution is removed after an upheld report or notice for copyright, trademark or inappropriate content, its author gets a warning. At 3 upheld removals in 12 months, their contributions are suspended for 90 days; the rest of the game stays open.

Repeated, manifestly unfounded reports or notices may also stop being handled first.

Ways to appeal

A player whose contribution is declined or removed, or whose contributions are suspended, receives the decision and its reason in the game (“My contributions”). They can contest it within six months by writing to contact@cine-masters.com: the decision is reviewed and a reasoned answer is given.

The author of a takedown request receives the decision and its reason by email, and can contest it the same way, quoting its reference.

These steps don’t deprive anyone of the right to go to the competent court, nor of other remedies provided by law.
