Publisher

CineMasters is published by MINDLET (SAS with share capital of €500), the controller of your data.

Full legal notice: terms of use.

Contact: contact@cine-masters.com.

Hosting

The site and its data are hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare Workers, D1 databases and related storage). Each player’s game state is stored in the European Union. Cloudflare, a US company, may process some data outside the European Union on its global network, with the safeguards required by the GDPR.

Data we collect

You access CineMasters with your MastersMasters account (masters-masters.com), the shared account for the Masters games: signing up, logging in, verifying your email address and declaring your age all happen there, under its own privacy policy. CineMasters never receives your login credentials.

We only collect what we need to create and run your account:

  • what your MastersMasters account sends CineMasters each time you log in: your email address and whether it’s verified, your username, your display name, your profile photo if you have one and your MastersMasters account ID;
  • your game progress (posters, opened reels, tickets, watchlists) and your display language;
  • the history of your auctions, bids, trades and settlements, kept to run the service, prevent fraud and publish price history (anonymously);
  • your public profile (username, level, showcase), visible to signed-in players only, whose visibility you control; it isn’t indexed by search engines.
Purpose
managing your player account and your film vault.
Legal basis
performance of the service you request by creating an account.
Retention
for as long as your account exists; when it’s deleted, everything is erased except market and trade history, which is anonymized.
Your rights
access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection, available on request at contact@cine-masters.com. You can also file a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr).

The service is for people aged 15 and over.

No data is sold or shared for advertising purposes.

Deleting your account (right to erasure)

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from Settings › Delete my CineMasters account. You can also request it by email at contact@cine-masters.com.

To prevent deletion by mistake or by someone else, we ask you to type your username and to have logged in within the last 10 minutes (otherwise, log in again with MastersMasters).

  • Deleted: your CineMasters account (its link to your MastersMasters account, your username and display name in the game), your film vault, your tickets, your progress, your profile and showcase, your friends, your imported lists, your notifications and all your sessions. Your MastersMasters account is kept: you delete it on MastersMasters.
  • Your ongoing auctions and trades are cancelled: other players get their posters and tickets back. Finished auctions and trades stay in other players’ history, anonymized (“Deleted player”): nothing links them to you anymore.
  • Your username stays reserved for 30 days, as a fingerprint that cannot be read back, so nobody can use it to impersonate you.
  • The technical logs of the deletion only keep a hashed identifier, without your email or username.

Timing: deletion is immediate. If a trade or sale involving you is being settled, you need to wait for it to finish: usually a few seconds, up to 24 hours for a sale held for review. Our host’s technical backups (point-in-time restore) expire on their own within 30 days.

Contributions, reports and takedown requests

  • Contributions: your account, the title, the file or link suggested (a file’s EXIF metadata, including GPS location, is removed on upload), your declaration (rights holder, source, basis, date) and the moderation decision; a published contribution is credited with your username. Purpose: publishing contributions and being able to answer for hosted content. Legal basis: performance of the service and the host’s legal obligations. Retention: while the contribution is published; if declined or withdrawn, one year after the decision; when your account is deleted, unpublished suggestions and their files are erased and your username leaves the credit of published contributions.
  • Reports and support: your account, the title, what was displayed, the reason and your optional note. Retention: one year after the report is handled; when your account is deleted, your support is erased and your reports are no longer linked to you.
  • Takedown requests (no account): the notifier’s name, email address, organization and capacity, the content concerned, grounds and explanation, and a non-reversible fingerprint of the IP address (abuse prevention); Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the author isn’t a bot. Purpose: handling the request, acknowledging it and reporting the decision (the host’s legal obligation). Retention: IP fingerprint 7 days; notifier identity one year after the decision, then erased.
  • Repeat infringement: the date and reason of upheld removals of your contributions, kept twelve months to apply the repeat-infringer policy, then erased.
  • Moderation log: each decision (date, administrator, reason), kept one year. The figures published on the Community and takedowns page contain no personal data.

Contribution rules and takedown procedure

Security and abuse prevention

To protect your account and the service, without any device fingerprinting:

  • each session records the IP address and browser used to log in, kept for the life of the session; attempt counters tied to your IP address limit repeated logins;
  • CineMasters doesn’t record any device fingerprint, nor any IP address for the market or trades.
  • When you delete your account, the remaining market and trade records are anonymized. Legal basis: performance of the contract and legitimate interest.
  • Moderation flags linked to your account are deleted along with it.

Cookies

The site only sets strictly necessary cookies: the session cookie once you log in, a signed cached copy of it (5 minutes), a temporary state cookie while you log in through MastersMasters (a few minutes), and the cookie that remembers your display language (400 days). The site itself uses no trackers and no analytics. Trailers go through the YouTube player, which only loads with your consent (see “Trailers and YouTube”): YouTube may then use its own cookies or storage, under its privacy policy.

Trailers and YouTube

Trailers play in the embedded YouTube player (youtube-nocookie.com), which may set cookies or write to your browser’s storage. Nothing from YouTube (player, script, early connection) loads before you agree, and we ask the first time you open a trailer: “Accept and watch” starts the trailer, “Decline” only skips the trailer and the rest of the game stays the same.

Your choice is kept on your device only (the browser’s local storage, never sent to our servers) for 13 months, then asked again. Trailer thumbnails are public images served by YouTube (i.ytimg.com), without cookies.

You can withdraw your consent at any time in settings (Sound section): any open player is closed and the data YouTube wrote to this site’s storage is erased.

Film data sources

Information about films, series, sagas, directors and studios comes from Wikidata and Wikipedia, credited wherever their data appears.

Trailers play in the embedded YouTube player and are never downloaded or stored. Posters come from TMDB when that service is enabled; otherwise, CineMasters draws its own.

Game rules

  • Tickets, the in-game currency, can never be converted into real money.
  • No poster is ever sold for real money.
  • The reel odds are published and open to everyone.
