What is CineMasters?

CineMasters is a movie trading card game you play in your browser. Every poster is a real title (film, series, anime or animation), its rarity follows its real-world fame, and you get a free reel of 5 posters every 10 minutes.

Is CineMasters free?

Yes. The game is completely free, with no ads and no purchases: a free reel arrives every 10 minutes, and quests earn XP.

Can you make money with tickets?

No. Tickets are the in-game currency: you use them to bid in auctions, and they can never be converted into money. No reel or poster is ever sold for real money.

How do you earn tickets?

By playing: 1 T for each poster sold to the video store; 20 T, plus 1 T per title, when you release a saga’s box set, and 10 T, plus 1 T per title, for a cycle; 50 T once when you reach level 5, which unlocks the market; and by earning Early Screening on a title on the rise. At auction, tickets move from one player to another. Quests, streaks and achievements earn XP.

What are the reel odds?

Each poster in a reel is pulled independently: Rush , B-Movie , Box Office , Blockbuster , Cult Classic , Masterpiece . There’s no guarantee and no pity timer: on average, a Masterpiece shows up in 1 reel out of 200.

Where do the titles come from?

From Wikidata, the free knowledge base: every poster is a real title, with its name, director, saga and trailer, streamed from YouTube and never downloaded. Artwork comes from TMDB when it’s available; otherwise, CineMasters draws its own poster.

Do I need a Letterboxd, IMDb or TMDB account?

No. Trailers play without an account. To import a watchlist, all you need is its CSV export from Letterboxd, IMDb or TMDB, no login to those services. CineMasters is an independent game, not published or endorsed by Letterboxd, IMDb, TMDB or YouTube.

Can I reuse the trailers outside the game?

No. Trailers play through the embedded YouTube player and remain subject to YouTube’s terms and their owners’ rights: CineMasters never downloads or redistributes them. To learn more about a title, every title page links to its Wikipedia article.

Which platforms can I import my watchlist from?

How is a poster’s rarity decided?

By the title’s real-world fame (Wikipedia views, awards, box office…), split into six tiers from Rush to Masterpiece. The more famous a title, the rarer it is to pull.

Tiers

Can a poster’s tier change?

Yes, rarity is alive: when a title’s fame shifts, its tier follows for every copy. If one of your posters climbs at least 2 tiers since you got it, you earn Early Screening on that title.

Can I sell or trade my posters?

Yes. The video store buys back any copy; from level 5, you can sell to other players at auction; and you can swap posters with a friend. There are no fees: the seller gets the full final price.

How old do I need to be?

You must be at least 15 to create an account, the age from which French law lets you consent on your own to the processing of your data.

What data do you collect?

Only what the game needs: what your MastersMasters account shares (email address, username, display name) and your progress. No ad trackers, no analytics, and your data is never sold.
